Shupe Homestead Wedding

I was so excited to photograph this wedding at Shupe Homestead in Colorado for Kacey and Zak! Kacey was one of my students at the college I teach photography at, so it was a super special day for me to be apart of. She is truly a gorgeous, gentle, happy soul. I got to meet Zak the day of the wedding after hearing about him in class for so long, so it was great to finally put a face to the name! You can hear a little bit more about my teaching and the other things I do in the About Me section of my website HERE. I also have a tiktok I made about the mock wedding we did at the end of the semester with my students (including Kacey!).

‘Til Death Do We Part at Shupe Homestead

Their whole theme was “till death do we part’ so they had a lot of dark colors, skulls, coffin and other spooky décor. It was stunning! I loved the dark bouquets (Cherry Bomb Events did an amazing job on the florals and planning!) and the drama of all the décor coming together to create a really unique wedding theme. The weather was overcast most of the day for this Shupe Homestead wedding, which actually really added to their whole theme really nicely. A little dark and moody for the ceremony, and some rain at the end of the evening was perfection. You can see one of my favorite rain wedding photos I have taken at the end of the gallery. They also were really into craft beer and breweries, so they brought a lot of that to the wedding as well! So, they had some hops as their décor and florals, and had a bunch of craft beers to try out.

A Match Made In Heaven

All the vendors were great to work with at Shupe Homestead and the Kacey and Zak are such a match made in heaven, they looked so happy. And their ring box was the coolest!! Check it out below!

This last image that we took in the rain was to DIE for! There is a big LOVE sign right outside the front of Shupe Homestead, and when the rain started up I knew what I wanted to do. They were up for getting a little damp, so we ran outside by the sign, my second shooter stood behind them with a light and I used my phone screen as a mirror on my lens to create the reflection. We got everything we needed in less than 2 minutes and we were back to the party! This is one of my favorites of the year.

Thanks to all the awesome vendors that made their day awesome!
